For what and How Does One Use it?
This color of specimen – is a very good grounding crystal for the emotions. It is also very good for grounding one during crystal healing layouts. Black Tourmaline does not hold you back from going as far as you can go, and it does help bring you back when you are ready. More to the point, it grounds the healing energy and information gained in the layout/meditative state, enabling you to integrate what you have received and learned into your physical body and consciousness.
Black Tourmaline when held in the hand will relieve the symptoms of allergies noticeably within 10 minutes. If you do not feel a difference within that time, swap the Tourmaline between hands. It is also good for holding if you have received a fright.
Black Tourmaline is very useful for people who are having trouble sleeping. Place it in your groin region or in your hand, or even under your pillow, and you will have a quality sleep and will awake feeling energized and ready to take on the day ahead with vigor!
I rate these crystals VERY highly. Thank goodness they are the least expensive of the Tourmaline families. These would have to be my most often used crystals, the Swiss army knife of the crystal world! (versatile!)

Black Tourmaline is also a terrific repeller of negative energy! On occasions when I'm obliged to visit my local hospital, I've found myself coming away with the most awful headaches. I mean the type that are only one step removed from a migraine, which isn't something I've ever suffered from. The negative energy there is so dense that it feels like not just one person, but an entire town, has died there.
I bought a Black Tourmaline pendant back in 2017, and I had an appointment the afternoon of the day it arrived. I'm a crystal whisperer, which of course facilitates bonding with them; and Tourmaline is one of my Soul Crystals: needless to say, the bond was established rapidly despite the fact I'd never met a Black Tourmaline before. So I wore the pendant to the hospital, and it did a spectacular job: no negative energy, no vicious headache, and my consultant (as my late grandmother used to say, a real negative nelly) got a hefty dose of his own medicine. Wonderful!
