General Etched Quartz Information
For what and How Does One Use it?
Etched crystals are fascinating and powerful beings! The etching generally indicates the crystal is jam packed full of information. There are many ways to access this wisdom – though the primary way is to use the etching itself. To do this, get comfortable and hold the crystal in your hands – view the etching as a kind of braille language. Clear your mind, and let your hands gently caress the etching on the crystal as if reading braille. Sometimes your hands appear to take on a life of their own, seemingly moving at random – take this as a sign that you are indeed interacting with and “reading” the crystal. Do not be disillusioned if this process does not occur for you, as you may very well be receiving the information at a subconscious level – for later retrieval by your intuition. Another way to access this information is to simply gaze at/into the etching of the quartz crystal. If your eyes start to drift out of focus, this is a good indication you are interfacing with the crystal and it is passing wisdom across to you.
As mentioned above – etching can occur in many different varieties of Quartz. Etching is a good indication that the particular crystal in question is an ancient and knowledgeable being. As with any elder generation, respect and honor goes along way to the wisdom these light beings are willing to share.
It would be fair to say Elestial crystals are the royalty of the Etched Quartz families. Due to their often skeletal layers, these crystals display a breathtaking array of etching. Many Elestial crystals have a different style of etching/language on every side and termination face!

Hi Jamie, Thank you for your photo and question. Yes, this is indeed a very special crystal. I have similar. On a physical level, the etching was likely caused by what is termed as being “water interference”.
It is a crystal that contains vast knowledge, and it looks like it has a different etched “language” on each side. Very impressive!

Hi Carol, this is a Starbrary crystal.
Starbrary crystals are crystals that have markings/glyphs on the side. They are crystals that have stored information within them. This information was seeded by star people that visited the planet eons ago. The information will be released to the crystals new guardian via both subconscious, or conscious methods. Meditation is the most likely way to gain access, but so too can reading them by running ones fingers over the glyphs, reading it in a braille like fashion. The glyphs themselves can take many interesting shapes and are etched upon the crystal itself – usually the sides, in rare cases, on the termination faces as well. Shapes that maybe encountered can be triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, lightning type zig zags, or even combinations of them all!

Hi I found this big circle on a really tiny quartz point in a cluster. I have tried scratching and wiping it and nothing seems to remove it. Any idea what it could be?

I imagine if you got a microscope to look at it you might find it has a perfect bevel in it. I had a crystal (disappeared in Katrina sadly) that had three triangles like the great pyramids and they were very tiny but through a microscope one could see they were perfect bevels in the corners as well…

Hi Chelsie, Thank You for your posts. Sorry for the delay, the spam filter mistakenly put your posts in spam. OK, this one for sure is also a Starbrary crystal. I have not covered these yet on this site. They have glyphs which is a “light” language. I do recommend much the same methods as connecting with etched quartz, and that is to hold it in your hands and just start moving them over the crystal sensing the etching through your finger tips. Try and empty your mind of conscious thoughts and do your best to let what ever sensations, visions come to you. If you find yourself analyzing or “Thinking”, just try to listen/concentrate on your breath until the feelings, thoughts, visions, emotions start to flow again. It can take a bit of practice, but it is worth sticking at!

Hello, I am wondering if there are any unique properties associated with raw etched amethyst? That is, would it have different properties to other forms of amethyst such as clusters, geodes, points etc? I’m assuming the etchings would suggest it is a rich storehouse of knowledge but am just wondering if there is anything in addition you might know about it? I recommend quietly sitting down with the crystal and running your fingers over the etching, as if reading braille. You may well be amazed at the information that comes!
