Use a quartz Channeling crystal with the 7-sided face on the 3rd Eye through circular breathing type meditation for amazing results. I found after I had done this once, I was able to connect with that crystal remotely. No matter where either of us were, I could feel its energy on my 3rd eye as if it was there in the physical. I later branched out to remotely connecting with many crystals, then onto connecting through photos.

I’m sorry to hear of your friends situation.
Yes, you can certainly use your Quartz Crystal in this situation. To my mind, it is not so much for channeling, but more in a manifestation capacity. You can program the crystal to put out the energy of this situation resolving itself in the most positive way for your friend. Leave it as open as you can, trying to avoid programing a certain circumstance. This allows the universe to resolve this in what could be a very surprising way you had not though of. Leave the universe as much room to weave it’s magic.
Programming your crystal can be as easy as holding it and simply think/feel/visualize your friend coming through this happy and content.
The crystal will then “stream” your program to the universe until the job is done.
